MOUNTAIN SUNSET SILHOUETTES

Inspired by experiences walking and climbing in the mountains, these sunset silhouettes capture the sky at its most dramatic as the landscape below it loses depth and detail to the failing light, becoming a simple profile where the line of the landscape can be better appreciated. The contrast between the vivid colours of the sunset juxtoposed against the blackness of the simplified landscape has obsessed me for many years.
